He was a reporter for some magazine and loves movies. One day he asked me if I could help him research a book idea and I said sure. He had an idea of being a writer and said that his great grandpa was a doctor and his grandmother was a doctor.He was thinking about how to make the story line more personal. He had a female doctor but the character in the story was mostly male. I told him that he could research female characters but he would have to write about males. I also told him that he should research female physicians as well. His friend came over and said that they would like to read it.So I researched the Doctor in 'Brady Circle' by Thomas Mann. I did a smal l article about how Mann wrote the book. I included a short quote about how Mann's wife said to him, 'You're not writing about a doctor because that's too much like men.' They felt that she was a bit snobbish, but I wanted to include her comment.That was my inspiration for writing the article about the story arc. So I did a little research on the author, John Galt, and then read the novel.I talked to some people who knew Galt. One woman told me that she read the book when she was growing up. When she did, she thought the main character was completely right.
